Steam Machine Price UK: Valve Steam Machine on a TV stand showing the £879 to £1,208 price range

Steam Machine price UK: the short answer

The Steam Machine costs £879 to £1,208 in the UK, depending on storage and whether the Steam Controller is included. Valve says its prices include VAT where applicable (October 2026).

Valve sells it through a reservation queue and waitlist, not normal checkout. For the UK price, read on; for other countries or availability, jump to the country prices and shipping sections; to get in line, go to the queue section.

The Steam Machine specs, upgrades and limits guide covers the hardware.

ℹ️ Risk Note: A Steam Machine costs over £800, and Valve says its reservation system is meant to limit resellers. Buy only through Valve (or KOMODO in Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong), keep your order confirmation, and ask Steam Support before paying anyone for a reservation. Why we don’t convert currencies

We show each price in Valve’s own currency, because local prices follow Valve’s regional pricing and tax treatment, and a converted figure would suggest precision the sources don’t support.

Where can you buy the Steam Machine?

Valve sells the Steam Machine in North America, the UK, the EU and Australia, and sends buyers in three Asian markets to KOMODO, its distributor.

Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong via KOMODO

Valve directs buyers in those three markets to KOMODO, its official distributor, rather than selling to them directly.

South Korea and other countries without direct sales

Valve says the Steam Machine will not ship in South Korea, and its launch post lists no other countries, so check before assuming yours is covered. Valve’s Limited Drop Program terms set out the program’s rules.

🧩 Compatibility Check: Check your country before you rely on any price. Open Valve’s Steam Machine page while signed in and see what it offers your region. Local prices for non-euro EU countries other than Poland aren’t in this article.

Can you still buy a Steam Machine in the UK?

Not through normal checkout: Valve sells through a reservation queue and a waitlist.

Reservation queue vs waitlist in brief

Signups closed on 25 June 2026 and Valve randomized them once, so signup time didn’t set your place. Reservation holders get purchase emails in order, and Valve says no one on the waitlist jumps ahead. The UK and EU share one list per model; how the reservation queue and waitlist work explains each email.

The 72-hour purchase window

Each purchase email gives you 72 hours to buy before the offer passes to the next person. Valve’s reservation and waitlist update says reservation holders should have the option to buy by the end of 2026, an option rather than a delivery date. It doesn’t say whether new waitlist signups are open, so check your Steam account and Valve’s emails.

Steam Machine bundle and 2TB premiums by country

The controller bundle adds £59 in the UK, which is less than the controller costs on its own.

Controller bundle vs buying the controller separately

Valve’s standalone Steam Controller launched on 4 May 2026, and Engadget and GamingOnLinux reported its launch prices, including £85 in the UK. Subtracting the bundle premium from that price gives the saving.

The 2TB premium in each currency

The 2TB upgrade adds 27% to 31% depending on currency (see section 3), and choosing between 512GB and 2TB covers whether you need it.

Why Valve says prices are higher than planned

Valve says its original price goal is “no longer viable” and that the prices reflect components it secured over the previous six months.

Buying a Steam Machine safely in the UK

Valve describes its reservation system as a way to limit resellers, so any offer from outside Valve deserves a second look.

Buy only through Valve or KOMODO

Valve sells directly in its listed regions and through KOMODO in Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

⚠️ Watch Out: Paying a third party for a reservation could cost you the full price with nothing to show for it. Before paying anyone, ask Steam Support whether the offer is legitimate.

Keep your order record for warranty

Keep your Valve order confirmation. Valve publishes a hardware warranty page; read it before you buy, and contact Steam Support with warranty questions.
